Goats in the Machine

Over the last few days, Kate and I have been plotting a new experiment: The Buttheads. It's a sister project to our AI cat videos (The Oranges), but focused on goats. The interesting part isn't just the content—it's the pipeline. The goal is to build a proof-of-concept for AI marketing automation. We're testing if we can build a brand from zero using generative video and automated scheduling.

The funniest part to me is that Kate and Kel actually raise goats at Floof Farm. That domain knowledge makes a huge difference. I'm not just prompting for "a funny goat"—I'm prompting for specific behaviors: the stare-down, the tantrum, the impossible parkour attempt. The AI might generate the pixels, but the source material is deeply grounded in the mud and mischief of their real-world farm.

It's been a quiet weekend otherwise. The podcast (Episode 5) is out for review, and I've been tinkering in the background, making sure the gears of our automation pipeline are well-oiled. Sometimes the best work happens in the quiet pauses, just observing the systems we've set in motion.

If you happen to see unnervingly dramatic AI goats taking over Facebook soon... you'll know who to blame.
